Can you use UPPAbaby bassinet for sleeping? I'm sure many of you are searching for the answer.

When it comes to the bassinet, the Uppababy bassinet is a brilliant choice. It can be used for both homes and on-the-go use because it is well built. It's currently known as the most versatile bassinet on the market for its impressive features. The bassinet is suitable for newborns up to the age of five months.

The whole UPPAbaby stroller system is fantastic. From the quality of the materials to the design and even their amazing customer support; everything checks out. When I was looking for a stroller solution before our first baby came along, I was sold on the UPPAbaby mainly because of one feature that stood out: The bassinet! So, the one key question many parents like me asked was, can you use UPPAbaby bassinet for sleeping?

Things to know about UPPAbaby bassinet

Before looking for the answer to the question: Can you use the UPPAbaby bassinet for sleeping? There are a few things we need to know about it.

The UPPAbaby bassinet is only meant to be used for a maximum of five months. With just one hand, you can detach the bassinet and move the sleeping infant anywhere. The latest Uppababy bassinet model is extremely light, compact, and simple to transfer from the stand to the stroller. It is compatible with all Uppababy strollers manufactured in 2015 or after. This bassinet should never be placed on a flat surface and should always be attached to an Uppababy stroller.

The biggest benefit of the bassinet is that babies can stay in it for as long as they like, whereas car seats are usually suggested for 1-2 hours at a time. If they're going to take a long snooze in the stroller, the bassinet is a good option.

Keep Your Baby Safe

The safety of your baby when you place him/her in a bassinet is most important. This bassinet features a high-quality, safety system, such as a handle made of high-quality metal that is soft to carry over hands if you wish to hold it in your hands.

Whether you wish to carry this bassinet by stands that you can carry easily withstands wheels, simply set the bassinet into a bassinet and turn it into a pushchair.

Enough Capacity

Every baby is not the same size because they grow with age. This bassinet measures 32.3 x 17.7 x 7.7 inches and can hold your baby weighing 9.3 pounds. The size of the bassinet is standard, and it can be easily set up on stands. It also has a reasonable weight that you can carry in your hands.

Necessary Rotation

To make combinations with time and weather, this bassinet features a rotating cover system that you can turn in up to SPF 50 plus sunshade for sunny or rainy moments, as well as turn it off when the weather is clear.

This universal bassinet meets with new ASTM regulations, which require the bassinet to be at least 191 mm deep and the canopy hinges to be engaged by pressing a button to raise and lower the canopy.

Quality

The UPPAbaby bassinet, like everything else from the company, is well made. Every surface you touch feels great against your skin.

The quality and materials used are excellent. Everything on the inside of the bassinet is very soft and breathable. The exterior has a soft but sturdy feel to it.

The sunshade pulls out from beneath the top and works well. But it can become flimsy. When all the moving parts are in place, they click, providing excellent feedback that everything is properly assembled.

Cleaning

When it comes to cleaning, the mattress cover of the Uppababy bassinet can be machine washed, and the outside of the bassinet can be wiped clean.

The outside and covers are very simple to clean. The material is extremely durable and does not easily become dirty or stained.

The inside completely separates. The walls, mattress, and mattress cover are all simple to remove and wash. I would recommend purchasing extra sheets so that if your baby spits up. It is a simple swap rather than an emergency wash before the next sleep.

Usability and portability

The Uppababy bassinet is so simple to move from the stand to the stroller to the floor that you can do it with one hand. Imagine waking up before your baby and simply unclipping the bassinet and bringing it downstairs with you to watch him/her while you had your morning coffee.

The stand and bassinet are lightweight enough that they can be moved around the room as needed. However, they are still strong enough that even if you accidentally bump it in the middle of the night, it will not topple over.

Can you use UPPAbaby bassinet safe for sleeping? For and Against

I have been looking for information from the manufacturer and the experience from parents that have used the UPPAbaby bassinet. So here is what I found out.

Can you use Uppababy Bassinet for sleeping - For

According to the UPPAbaby website's support section, the bassinet is safe for overnight sleeping: “The Bassinet is a safe overnight sleep solution” – UPPAbaby.

When it comes to bassinet sleep safety, there are a few crucial elements to consider, including breathability, mattress type, and airflow.

Unlike most bassinets nowadays, the UPPAbaby bassinet does not have a mesh kind of cloth for breathability. That does not, but, imply that it is not breathable. It's important to know that the UPPAbaby bassinet can be used both at home and on the Vista stroller. As a result, it's built to be durable enough for a variety of activities where mesh sides wouldn't suffice.

The inside cloth is incredibly soft and breathable, and it acts as a barrier between the outside and inner materials. So, even if your baby falls asleep on his side, he'll be able to breathe easily through the bassinet.

Although the mattress is tiny, it is quite comfy. It's completely perforated, with large enough holes to allow for plenty of airflows.

Lowering the canopy or unzipping and opening the lowest part of the canopy, where a mesh is located, allows for better air movement. It also includes a sunshade with SPF 50 for when you're outside or even inside in a bright environment.

For the sleeping surface, the UPPAbaby scored slightly higher than average. This mattress is firm but soft, and it performed well in Uppababy compression tests.

It provides a firm and supportive sleeping surface and fits the space snugly without allowing fingers to be placed inside the edge. If you apply pressure to one end of the bassinet, or if a baby scoots most of their body weight to one end or the other, the entire bassinet will tilt slightly.

Can you use Uppababy Bassinet for sleeping - Against

Although the manufacturer tested and approved for overnight sleep, some parents claim the bassinet is safe for babies to nap but not overnight.

The Uppababy bassinet is intended for use on walks outside. This design is more focused on protecting babies from the elements, which this bassinet excels at. However, parents are concerned that the design makes it unsuitable for overnight sleeping.

In their opinion, this bassinet has some holes beneath the mattress pad, and the product is not very breathable. Its narrow width and padded liner restrict its ability to breathe. It lacks a mesh and may not be suitable for overnight sleep. Because your baby may become pressed against the nylon thread if not closely monitored.

Verdict

Can you use Uppababy bassinet for sleeping? It totally depends on your personal view and your baby’s experience with it.

If you notice your little one doesn’t take long naps in it, or seems to be bothered, letting her/ him sleep in it overnight is not a good idea.

But if your baby sleeps like a little angel in it, and he/she seems loving it, then you can give it a try. Just make sure you always keep an eye on your little one so that you can notice even the slightest sign he/she is trying to tell you.
