Getting ready to treat your children a trip to Disney? There are plenty of things to think about. Something like, do you need a big kid stroller for Disney, or where can you rent one? You don't want your toddler to get too tired walking.

But is there any specs requirement in a stroller that you can bring to Disney? Is your current stroller going to cut it?

In this article, I will share with you the rules that Disney has set for stroller, and where you can get one nearby in case you don't have a stroller.

What stroller can I bring to Disney?

According to a new policy that took effect at all Disney parks, including Disney World from May 1, 2019, you can bring both stroller wagons and wagons smaller than 31" (79 cm) x 52" (132 cm). Fortunately, that is the most common size for strollers on the market these days.

On the other hand, if you have twins or you have a tall stroller for tall parents, you might have to measure the size carefully. The right way to measure the stroller is to identify the widest and longest points ( including the handles or wheels protrude ) while taking measurements.

Do you need a big kid stroller for Disney?

Any kid over the age of 4 does not need a stroller at Disney World.

However, some parents still decide to use strollers for many reasons:

Containing stuff

Kids often bring along a bunch of stuff including toys, a diaper bag, meals, lotion, and more but a backpack is too small to carry those a day long.

Preventing getting lost

Older children are curious about everything so they like to run a lot to discover such a massive place as Disneyland. However, once you lose their trace, it can be dangerous to let your children run alone among strangers so getting a stroller can be an effective solution.

Resting

Disney World is a massive place and even adults are exhausted while exploring Disney World, so it is easy to understand why big kids can shut down randomly and may ask their parents to carry or give them piggyback. In conclusion, the most efficient way for parents to rest is to bring a stroller for kids to sit or sleep while they shut down.

Controlling kids with neurological disorders

Larger “strollers” are commonly used for grown children with nervous disorders or severe learning difficulties due to their unpredictable behaviors.

How to Choose the Best Big Kid Stroller for Disney

After knowing that your kids might need to use strollers on a Disney trip, we will start to look into the must-have features for suitable strollers. As a mom, I think there are 6 important features that every stroller must get including:

1. Maneuverability

The first thing you need to make sure of your stroller is maneuverability. Checking goods out at a store can be deceptive, especially if you push them empty across a perfectly polished floor as most people do. We discovered substantial disparities in mobility across rival items during our tests, particularly when fully laden. To have the precise result, I suggest putting 25 pounds of weight in the seat to simulate a 1.5-year-old plus a diaper bag and then attempting to handle it with one hand.

2. Easy to Close, Open, and Carry

In this second feature, there are two ways to check if the stroller is easy to close, open, carry, or not. The first way is to modify the backrest to see if it is simple to do? Is the harness simple to put on and take off?. The second way is to open the stroller with one hand, then lose the stroller in the same way.

3. Storage Basket

The next thing to do is to not forget to analyze the available storage space when you are buying strollers for kids. If you'll be carrying a lot of equipment, be sure there's enough storage. Consider how much room you have in your trunk. You can ask merchants to let you carry the stroller out to your car to confirm that it fits in your trunk when folded. If you're unable to do so, take measurements.

4. A Canopy for Shade

One of the most important things to do is to check if the canopy is expandable or not. If you don't know how to install it correctly, ask the store for some help or search the instructions on Youtube.

5. Reclining Seats

Before purchasing reclining seats, check carefully if those have fully reclining seats that allow infants to ride safely, some are compatible with infant car seats, and quite a few do both.

6. Examine the certification

Last but not least, you should know that all strollers sold in the United States must meet the obligatory federal safety standard but search for a JPMA Certified logo for further assurance. It shows that the stroller has been approved by the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association to meet all regulatory requirements as well as the JPMA's relevant standards.

Best place to rent a stroller for Disney World

  1. Disney World

The daily rental price for a single stroller is $15; however, if you rent for numerous days, the rate drops to $13 per day. The daily rental charge for a double stroller is $31, and the pricing drops to $27 for multiple-day stroller rentals. In Disney Springs, you need to pay about $100 to rent a stroller.

Small tips:

If you lose your stroller at the park, you can get a replacement for free if you have your receipt. (To put it another way, if you leave the receipt in the stroller, it won't help you if you lose it.) A replacement stroller is available at Disneyland locations such as:

  • Little Green Men Store
  • Command Gag Factory
  •  Pooh Corner (A stroller is still mentioned on the sign. However, this business is closed due to construction for Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, so don't bother going there.)
  • Westward Ho (in Disney California Adventure)

From my perspective, I don't recommend renting strollers from Disney directly because the material of the strollers is hard plastic, and the price is being overcharged.

2.ScooterBug

You might wish to check for an off-site rental firm if you want to rent a stroller that you can use both inside and outside of the theme parks. Disneyland's recommended off-site rental company for strollers, modified strollers, and wheelchairs are ScooterBug. (This company does not lend out any other baby gear). If you want to rent a stroller you can use both inside and outside of the theme parks, you might look for an off-site rental company. ScooterBug is the only rental company that does not require you to be available for delivery and pickup if you are staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel.

About the price

  • $20.00 Rent 1 Day
  • $30.00 Rent 2 Days
  • $40.00 Rent 3-4 Days
  • $45.00 Rent 5-7 Days
  • $50.00 Rent 8-9 Days
  • $55.00 Rent 10-12 Days
  • $60.00 Rent 13-14 Days
  • $80.00 Rent 15-30 Days
